WHEN WE SEE US: Perspectives with Marcia Harvey Isaksson
In this series, Southnord has invited some of the role models in our Afro-Swedish community to share their thoughts about the works that resonate with them the most in the When We See Us exhibition at Liljevalchs Konsthall in Stockholm, Sweden.
For our first episode, Marcia Harvey Isaksson - curator, artist, exhibition architect and the founder of Southnord - walks us through her favourite paintings, emphasising the beauty in varying expressions of joy, whether it’s an iconic apartheid activist at a birthday party or through a ritual dance.
